Dr. Nripendra V. Singh has received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Horticulture from IARI, New Delhi. After completion of his NAARM training he joined National Research Centre on Pomegranate on 20th June, 2009 as Scientist. Dr. Singh has undergone advance training program on Micropropagation of Horticultural Crops, Marker Assisted Breeding, Association mapping and Transcriptome analysis.

Most significant research achievements:

 

  • Standardized and commercialized of in vitro propagation including biohardening in pomegranate cv. Bhagwa.
  • Standardized and commercialized sanitation protocol for production of bio-hardened healthy planting material through HWC in pomegranate.
  • Identified four linked markers for fruit weight, titratable acidity and bacterial blight severity

 

Research Interests:

 

·         Micropropagation of pomegranate

·         Association mapping and diversity analysis in pomegranate

·         Genome wide identification of micro RNA and transcriptome analysis in pomegranate

 

Awards/ Recognition/Fellowships/Scholarships:

 

Young Scientist Associate Award in the field of Horticulture- Fruit Science from BIOVED Organization in the year 2016.

 

Awarded Fellow of the International College of Nutrition in 2015.
